As you are probably aware, last week Robert DeNiro appeared on the Today Show to speak about the 15th anniversary of the TriBeCa Film Festival and ended up doing a glowing review of the movies Vaxxed and Trace Amounts. Well, after realizing that TriBeCa lost out on their opportunity to promote movies that are actually at their own movie festival, both DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal were invited back to discuss the film festival, this time with Al Roker. Guess what happened? The same thing.
Watch the video below to see where the conversation goes immediately and how annoyed Jane Rosenthal is that this conversation has taken yet another turn down the Vaxxed conversation, and she can’t seem to steer it in her direction. She then as a last desperate attempt, blurts out that people should check the reviews of the movie. So we did..
Here is an isolated piece of Jane’s thoughts on the movie. The full clip is here.
First, when evaluating movies, I think of 2 major sites, IMDB.com and RottenTomatoes. You can see the results below, both have given what could be considered pretty solid numbers. Realize that the second highest grossing movie this year is Batman Vs Superman, which has a 7.2 on IMDB and 69% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, Vaxxed is at 87% on RT. I think we all owe Jane for continuing to make this movie the perfect example of the “Stresiand Effect”. The Streisand effect is the phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the Internet. Bravo, Jane.
Let’s try again next week on the Today Show!
