Carmit Avital sent out a plea to all pregnant women to ‘get your Pertussis vaccinations.’ Avital claims that she contracted whooping cough while pregnant with her daughter, Eva, which she alleges led to her daughter eventually contracting Pertussis weeks after she was born. The video begins with an advertisement fro Gold Coast Health. The video’s tone, which has Avital confessing to her ‘mistake,’ seems awkward, rehearsed and forced. How many unbiased videos advertise a hospital prior to the message?
Avital has publicly said she’s frustrated that people would consider her video disingenuous. But at the same time, she also admits the video was the idea of hospital Doctors claiming to be producing an “educational video.” According to Daily Mail, she didn’t plan to create this video until Doctors approached her and suggested she do so.
She said had not planned her speech, with doctors arriving in her ward and asking her if she wanted to film a video for educational purposes.
So the video, in her own words, wasn’t even her idea. The video clearly wasn’t in an educational format; it was in a propaganda format. The story remains one filled with fragments and holes. It seems like half-truths and correlations pieced together for the sake of creating a Government video.
As I wrote yesterday: Eva is set to be released from the hospital this week, which isn’t mentioned in the video. Other items remaining unclear: Avital had Pertussis seemingly while pregnant and remained contagious nearly 12 weeks later? If she was tested for it (and that’s not known), did the hospital take any precautions when Eva was born? Was test performed on Cormit again, seeing she had this previous history of Pertussis? Did she breastfeed to help boost Eva’s immune system?
