Matthew Foerstel decided he wanted to film women changing in the dressing room. What better place to film than Target? Target no longer holds any distinctions between men and women’s dressing rooms, leading some to associate this crime with the company’s global policy change. To the best of our knowledge, Foerstel doesn’t identify as female. And was not confronted entering into the women’s dressing rooms.
According to local St. Louis, KMOV news:
An O’Fallon, Missouri man was arrested on April 23 after allegedly secretly filming women in a Target dressing room.ADVERTISEMENT
Matthew Foerstel, 26, faces felony charges for invasion of privacy in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Brentwood Police Department arrested Foerstel on April 23 after he allegedly held a camera phone under a dressing room door while a female shopper tried on swim suits at the Target store in Brentwood.
An officer went to Ranken Technical College to place Foerstel under arrest and reportedly found him in possession of a loaded handgun.
Target has come under scrutiny since the policy change. Many felt that transgenders using the restroom or dressing rooms of their choice were never a conflict and that Target’s change simply gives a crevice of space for criminals to pursue perverted activities. Whatever the case, these issues do not seem to be going away.
